Hi, my name is Britni Peña and I am a full time student at Brigham Young University-Idaho where I am currently enrolled in a class known as "The Family". I am a pursing elementary education major but choose to take "The Family" because my most important role at this time in my life is that of a wife and mother. I have been married now for three years to my handsome husband, Andrew and we have an adorable son who will turn two in January.
During this class we are asked to create a project made up of 12 different topics that we will/have learned during the semester. I have chosen to create this blog for my project in hopes to help others learn how to build an eternal family. I have chosen 12 chapters from our text book "Successful Marriages and Families" that I believe will not only help myself but hopefully help others who are wanting to strengthen both their marriage and family relationships.
Over the next few weeks these are the following 12 topics/chapters I will be talking about:
1. Young Adulthood and Pathways to Eternal marriage
2.The ABCs of Successful Romantic Relationship Development: Meeting, -Dating, and Choosing an Eternal Companion
3.Equal Partnership between Men and Women in
Families
4.
The Warm, Happy Marriage: Cold Hard Facts to
Consider
5.
Parenting with Love, Limits, and Latitude:
Proclamation Principles and Supportive Scholarship
6.
Parenting in Gospel Context: Practices Do Make a
Difference
7/8.
Mothers as Nurturers and “Honor thy Father” Key
Principles and Practices of Fathering
9.
Modern Fertility Patterns and God’s Commandment
to Multiply and Replenish the Earth
10.
They Cannot Be Lost: Temple Covenants Save
Families
11.
The Eternal Family: A Plain and Precious Part of
the Plan of Salvation
12.
Sharing and Defending Family Proclamation
Principles
My hope is that one or more of these topics has caught your attention and you will come back to learn how you can build an eternal family through strengthening your marriage and family relationships.
